New Moldovan cabinet's action programme, list of ministers registered in parliament

Chisinau, 3 January /MOLDPRES/ - The action programme of the government, proposed by prime minister-designate Ion Sturza for 2016-2018, as well as the list of ministers, put forward for appointment, were registered in parliament on 2 January. 

According to the parliament's communication and public relations department, on 4 January, the candidate nominated for the office of prime minister, Ion Sturza, will unveil the government's action programme and the list of the cabinet at a special parliament plenary meeting, due at 14:00.

The team of Ion Sturza includes: Victor Chirila for the post of deputy prime minister, foreign and European integration minister; Ion Stavila - deputy prime minister for reintegration; Dona Scola - deputy prime minister, labour, social protection and family minister; Ion Munteanu - finance minister; Marin Ciobanu - economics minister; Stanislav Pavlovschi - justice minister; Alexandru Stoianoglo - interior minister; Viorel Cibotaru - defence minister; Svetlana Dogotaru - regional development and constructions minister; Alexandru Slusari - agriculture and food industry minister; Oleg Tofilat - transports and roads infrastructure minister; Andrei Ursache - environment minister; Loretta Handrabura - education minister; Veaceslav Reabcinschi - culture minister; Ala Nemerenco - health minister; Dumitru Alaiba - youth and sport minister; Alexandru Machedon - information technology and communications minister.

The main goal of the government's action programme for 2016-2018 is to enhance the well-being, security and quality of the people's living standards, particularly through: developing the economy and facilitating the creation of well-paid jobs, fighting corruption and guaranteeing the supremacy of law, ensuring personal security, strengthening the country's defence capacity, providing accessible and efficient public services, ensuring social protection for vulnerable groups of the population.

The new cabinet also is willing to create the needed prerequisites, which would ensure Moldova eligibility to get the status of country candidate for joining the European Union. The governmental team proposed by Ion Sturza will speak out for the desideratum of Moldova's reintegration, signing an agreement with the International Monetary Fund and is set to check the way the Chisinau International Airport was given into concession.
