Chisinau, 1 April /MOLDPRES/-The parliament today adopted a draft law amending and supplementing the Moldovan Labour Code in compliance with EU standards. The draft law was backed by 74 MPs.
According to it, the employer is compelled to inform the employees, before hiring them, of the number of working hours per day and week, working place, as well as remuneration.
“The employee is going to take notice of the collective labour contract and collective agreement, amendments to the labour contract and the company’s internal regulation. The working place is a mandatory clause of the labour contract, of which the employee must be informed, in order to be able to decide whether to accept the job offer or not,” the draft law reads.
The Labour Code was also amended by a new article providing for guarantees for the employees hired for a certain period of time. According to it, they are going to be treated just like permanent employees. “The duration of a fixed-term signed contract shall be indicated in the document, according to a supplementing of the Labour Code. Any amendment to it will be made through an additional agreement, signed by both sides,” the draft’s informative note states.
