Moldovan cabinet to revise tariffs for medical, sanitary services

Chisinau, 6 April /MOLDPRES/ - The tariffs for the medical and sanitary services will be revised by the cabinet. The parliament adopted a draft decision to this end today.   

Under the document, the government, in a 30-day period, is to make amendments  and adjustings to the methodology of calculation of tariffs for medical and sanitary services against payment.  

The head of the parliamentary commission for social protection, health and family, Oxana Domenti, said that it was about the tariffs increased in last February. “These increases triggered more discontents in the society, as the growth was excessive. We believe that the methodology of tariffs’ calculation is obsolete and needs to be revised, as more modifications have occurred in the health system since the moment of its elaboration. We consider that there are pre-requisites for cutting the tariffs after correcting the methodology of calculation,” Domenti said.    

The tariffs for medial and sanitary services were increased under a cabinet decision in February 2017. According to the Health Ministry, the new tariffs for medical services will not affect the persons holding the medical insurance policy.
