Chisinau, 15 November /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister Pavel Filip asked the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, Octavian Calmic, today to assess the progress of some investment privatization projects or setting industrial parks and called for cancelling privatization contracts if failed to meet the commitments assumed by investors.
The Prime Minister referred to two industrial parks in southern Moldova which promised to open more jobs, but in the end created only one or two working places.
"It is about the cinema – theatres in district centres that are now in deplorable state. I am also referring here upon Cimislia Industrial Park and Comrat Industrial Park, which would create 800 and 2260 jobs, respectively, but we have only one and two ones. A special place holds the National Hotel complex. Several times I drew attention to this issue. We had situations when children were using drugs there too, said Pavel Filip.
The Prime Minister asked for all privatization contracts to be checked for a week, and with "those which did not fulfill obligations, did not create jobs or make investments needed to cancel the privatization contracts."
