Chisinau, 10 March /MOLDPRES/ - A crew of the Mobile Emergency Service for Resuscitation and Extrication (SMURD) of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) today headed to Italy to bring home a patient citizen of Moldova.
“The demand for transport, assisted by a SMURD crew, was made by relatives of a 59-year-old woman who suffers from a serious disease,” IGSU sources said.
Thus, a SMURDE team with an intensive therapy ambulance, managed by the Inspectorate, will take over the patient from the Italian city of Brescia and will provide her medical assistance on the way home. Upon arriving in Moldova, the woman will be put in a specialized hospital from Chisinau, where she will enjoy needed medical care.
Twelve similar SMURD interventions have been recorded so far, as a result of which citizens of Moldova staying in other countries were transported and provided medical assistance.
