Emergency department of west Moldova city district hospital renovated

Chisinau, 28 June /MOLDPRES/ - The Emergency Department of the Ungheni District Hospital has been renovated according to international standards, with the support provided by the German Agency for International Cooperation, District Council and Finance Ministry.
According to the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry, after the restoration, the department was endowed with a portable ultrasound machine, radiologic apparatus, cardiac monitors, a portable ventilator for artificial breathing, defibrillator, high-tech cardiograph, ophthalmoscope, laryngoscope, multi-functional blankets.
At the Emergency Department, patients will be selected according to international codes (green – minor emergencies, yellow – medium-degree emergencies and red – major emergencies with risks to life) and the medical assistance will be provided according to the principle of seriousness of the general condition; the first ones to be taken will be patients whose risk to life is evaluated in selection, as well as the patients for whom there is risk of quick worsening.
The section will provide emergency medical assistance to citizens of the western Ungheni district and the neighbouring villages from the Falesti and Nisporeni districts. In 2017 alone, 19,129 patients appealed to the hospitalization section of the Ungheni District Hospital.
According to aforementioned ministry, the cost of the works for repair, endowment with equipment and furniture is of about 3,200,000 lei. Another 60,000 lei is to be earmarked by the German Agency for International Cooperation for the renovation of the telemedicine room.
