Chisinau, 12 September /MOLDPRES/- The authorities will take all legal actions to return Air Moldova to state ownership. President Igor Dodon made the statement. He said that there are documented premises and arguments that would allow the cancellation of the privatization agreement of the company. The issue was discussed at the Supreme Security Council meeting today.
Dodon also said that the situation at Chisinau International Airport was analyzed at the meeting.
He said that a few days ago, the state initiated the termination of the agreement signed between the government and Avia Invest regarding the concession of the Airport "on the grounds that, from the moment of the initiation of the competition and until the concession agreement was signed, violations of the legislation were admitted".
Today, Prime Minister Maia Sandu said that on 10 September 2019, the Public Property Agency has filed a lawsuit against Avia Invest company calling on outlawing the contract of 30 August 2013 on concession of assets under management of Chisinau International Airport and adjacent land.
"We believe that this concession contract is an abusive one, it was concluded with multiple violations of the normative framework in force, also, to the detriment of the interest of the state. We believe that there is sufficient evidence for declaring the nullity of the concession contract of the Chisinau International Airport ”, Maia Sandu said.
The cabinet repealed four government decisions approved in 2012-2013 on concession of Chisinau International Airport.
It was given in concession in 2013 for a period of 49 years.
