Chisinau, Jan. 4 /MOLDPRES/- Electricity consumption on the right bank has been ensured at the required level for January 3, according to the information of the government's crisis cell. For January 4, sufficient commercial capacity has been reserved at the border with Romania to cover the consumption needs, the government's communication department has reported.

On January 3, the electricity consumption on the right bank increased by 8.3% compared to the previous day, being fully covered under commercial contracts. The energy sources used are as follows: electricity import (RO) - 58.60%, Termoelectrica - 28.32%, renewable energy - 7.73%, CET-Nord - 4.29%, State Enterprise NHE Costești - 1.06%.

Thus, the activation of outage contracts or unintended flows on these days is not necessary. At the same time, no faulty disconnections of power grids, generating units or consumption sites were recorded.

In order to ensure the continued stability of the power system and continuous electricity supply, residents are urged to consume electricity rationally, especially during the peak hours 09:00-11:00 and 18:00-23:00.

In both the natural gas and thermal energy sectors, no breakdowns or incidents were recorded on January 3.

On the left bank, disconnections were carried out throughout the region yesterday evening. Due to network overload, grid failures were reported, affecting over 3 thousand consumers.

MGRES/Cuciurgan plant is currently running on coal, daily consumption is 1000 tons, from which 140-150 MW of electricity is produced. Coal reserves will reach approximately until the end of January, a shorter period than the previously announced 50 days.

Police, medical and emergency services are ready to provide support to people who will need help. The central authorities are in constant contact with the mayors of the localities affected by the disconnections to exchange information on the situation in the region.
