Moldovan president has working meeting with Russian ambassador

Chisinau, 12 September /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon has had a working meeting with Ambassador of Russia to Moldova Oleg Vasnetsov. The officials discussed the present agenda of the bilateral relations and found out with satisfaction the boosting of the cooperation ties in the most important sectors, the presidential press service has reported.
The sides highly appreciated the results of the visits, the head of state had recently paid to Russia, as well as a visit to Moscow by Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicolae Popescu and the talks he held with Russian Foreign Affairs Minister Sergey Lavrov.
Igor Dodon stressed that these visits contributed to the re-bringing of the strategic partnership between Moldova and Russia to the level wished by most residents of Moldova.
The officials also discussed issues of preparing and organizing the second Moldovan-Russian Economic Forum, due in Chisinau on 19-21 September 2019. Attending the event will be Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak, as well as leaders of Russian regions and representatives of the big business from both countries. The overall number of the participants will be about 1,000.
The Moldovan president also reiterated that Chisinau on 18-19 September would host the first in the last three years meeting of the Moldovan-Russian inter-governmental commission for commercial and economic cooperation, chaired by Russian Agriculture Minister Dmitry Patrushev and Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister Vasili Sova.
The head of state expressed confidence that both events would become a fit platform for deepening the trade and economic relations, including at the level of regions of the two countries and will give a fresh impetus to the development of the Moldova-Russia strategic partnership.
