Moldovan interior minister presents results of first 100 days from investment in office

Chisinau, 20 September /MOLDPRES/ – The deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Internal Affairs, Andrei Nastase, has presented, on Friday, 20 September, the results obtained in first 100 days from investing into office.

Nastase has said that when taking office, "the situation in which the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI) was found was incompatible with the demands of a democratic system and the rule of law". Under these terms, one of the priorities of the beginning of the term was the end of corruption and abuses in the system, said the minister.

According to him, in the first 100 days that have elapsed since taking office, tax evasion schemes have been destroyed in particularly large proportions, which have damaged the state budget (BS) by over MDL 200 mln. Also, there were opened 04 territorial stations of rescuers and firefighters and 03 new police sectors were operational in Basarabeasca, Donduseni and Drochia districts. There are to be inaugurated another 08 police sectors.

"The balance of the first 100 days includes a depoliticised ministry and cleansed by the schemes of oligarchic regime, structures that respect fundamental rights and freedoms and combat smuggling and illicit trafficking, a functional and optimised central apparatus, loyal cooperation with state institutions and civil society, international partnerships. relaunched with tangible results for citizens of Moldova”, declared the Interior Minister.

The Government led by Maia Sandu took office on 08 June 2019.
