Chisinau city hall unveils programme of activities for Moldovan capital's Dedication Day

Chisinau, 23 September /MOLDPRES/ - The Chisinau city’s Dedication Day will be marked through a string of activities. The acting head of the culture department, Stela Mitriuc, unveiled the schedule of the holiday at a today’s weekly meeting of the city hall’s services.
The events for the Dedication Day will start on 14 October morning with laying flowers at the Monument to Ruler Stefan cel Mare. Afterwards, a holy Liturgy dedicated to this holiday will be officiated at the Birth of God Metropolitan Cathedral.
At the same time, diverse exhibitions will be organized on alleys of the Cathedral’s square, with a painting of 286 metres displayed as well. The holiday will be officially inaugurated on the Great National Assembly Square and diverse artistic programmes will be held on the stages set on the Stefan cel Mare blvd.
A bust to departed writer Dumitru Matcovschi will be inaugurated on the Alley of Classics also on 14 October and municipal merit prices will be awarded at the Organ Hall.
Diverse sports competitions will be organized in the Moldovan capital on the Dedication Day. The holiday’s evening will culminate with a concert with fireworks.
