Moldovan president meets Bulgarian counterpart

Chisinau, 24 September /MOLDPRES/- In New York, President Igor Dodon had a bilateral meeting with President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev, the presidential press service has reported.
Dodon appreciated as very good cooperation relations set between our countries, which continue to consolidate over the years. He also noted the special role of the Bulgarian community in the development of partnership between Moldova and Bulgaria, pointing out that there are about 52,000 Bulgarians in our country, mainly in Taraclia district.
In this context, the Moldovan president thanked Bulgaria for assistance in the cultural, humanitarian and infrastructure sectors, especially in Taraclia.
Referring to commercial-economic cooperation, he noted the activity in the Republic of Moldova of about 200 companies with Bulgarian capital, with investments of over 50 million lei. At the same time, the officials were unanimous in the opinion about the need to boost the collaboration on the given segment.
At the end of the meeting, the sides agreed to organize an official visit of Rumen Radev to Moldova next spring.
