Moldovan president meets Estonian counterpart

Chisinau, 24 September /MOLDPRES/- President Igor Dodon met in New York with President of Estonia, Kersti Kaljulaid, the presidential press service has reported.
Dodon thanked the Estonian side for supporting Moldova in implementing democratic reforms and promoting the e-government program, meant to contribute to the development of information technologies at the level of public institutions. Also, the president praised the assistance in the educational and humanitarian field.
Dodon pointed out frequent contacts between officials of both states. Thus, he noted that the visit of the Prime Minister of Estonia to Moldova, Jüri Ratas, in June 2018, contributed to strengthening bilateral relations. In this context, the officials were unanimous in the need to organize mutual visits at the level of heads of states.
At the same time, the sides pointed out that the trade-economic relations between Moldova and Estonia are not used at fair value and require boost. In this context, the president welcomed the activity in Moldova of about 35 companies with Estonian capital, whose investment volume is about 27 million lei.
