Chisinau, 26 September /MOLDPRES/- Acting Prosecutor General Dumitru Robu submitted a complaint to the Constitutional Court requesting the interpretation of Article 70 of the Constitution and asked the magistrates to indicate whether the MPs deprived of parliamentary immunity can be investigated on other charges than those approved by the parliament.
In the complaint, the official asks the magistrates to state that “can be a MP detained, arrested, searched or prosecuted in criminal proceedings, if the parliament’s approval was on one object of accusation and then there were given evidence on other objects of accusation”.
In the same document, Robu says that the current legislation leaves room for ambiguities and asks whether Parliament's approval is needed for each object of the criminal prosecution or whether the initial agreement is sufficient.
In September, Robu came several times in parliament to request the lifting of the immunity of several MPs, including Ilan Shor, Marina Tauber, Reghina Apostolova, Petru Jardan and Vladimir Cebotari.
