Beneficiaries to be able to check medical certificate's status online in Moldova

Chisinau, 26 September /MOLDPRES/ – The beneficiaries of temporary disability allowances will be able to check the status of the certificate of medical leave online. The new electronic service has been launched by the National House of Social Insurance (CNAS).
Thus, the beneficiaries will be able to find out at what stage it is the examination of the medical leave certificate, if the data from it have been received or are under examination, if it is approved the decision to establish the allowance or if the money has been transferred for payment. Also, the applicants will be informed if they have been refused compensation or if the data in the medical certificate have not yet been transmitted.
So as to do it, the beneficiaries will have to access on the website of CNAS section: The statute of the medical certificate and enter the certificate number. The verification of the status of the medical leave certificate will be possible only if the data in the document are introduced in the system by the persons in charge of the medical – sanitary institutions.
The electronic service was developed by CNAS specialists in collaboration with the Electronic Governance Agency (AGE).
In early of September, it was launched the online portal for medical leave certificates. The data from the certificates are recorded on it, and subsequently the info is sent to CNAS, for use in calculation and payment of allowances. The portal was developed after 01 July 2019, and there are applied new procedures for calculating and paying compensation for temporary incapacity for work. According to them, the allowance for the first 5 days of medical leave in the case of common illnesses or accidents not related to work is calculated and paid by the employer, but not more than 15 cumulative days during a calendar year. Starting with the sixth day of temporary incapacity for work, the establishment, calculation and payment of allowances is carried out by CNAS from the account of the state social insurance budget (BASS).
