Moldovan foreign affairs minister has meetings with counterparts from Poland, Luxembourg, Croatia in New York

Chisinau, 26 September /MOLDPRES/ – Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Nicu Popescu, have discussed, on Wednesday, 25 September, with his counterparts in Poland, Luxembourg and Croatia, as main topics the cooperation within bilateral and multilateral dimensions, agenda of reforms and European integration of Moldova, but also the maintenance of a constant dialogue, within margins of the UN General Assembly, the MAEIE’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.
The meeting with Polish counterpart, Jacek Czaputowicz, has been a good opportunity to review the European agenda of Moldova, but also the constructive character of the intense Moldovan – Polish political dialogue, as well as the very good cooperation of Moldova and Poland both bilaterally and multilaterally, including within UN. Nicu Popescu has thanked the Polish Government for the constant support of the European path of Moldova and valuable assistance provided in the continuation of reforms, including for financial support offered under the Development Assistance Programme (PAD).
In the discussion with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg, Jean Asselborn, it has been approached the current state of relations Moldova and Luxembourg, as well as a number of topics on bilateral agenda. There was discussion about harnessing the real potential of the relations between the two states, by intensifying the political – diplomatic dialogue, and contacts at sectoral level. The Moldovan minister wanted to thank for the substantial technical and financial assistance granted to Moldova in promoting social reforms and projects. At the same time, the officials also talked about the ways in which the Luxembourg Government might continue to support reforms in various fields and, similarly, the European path of Moldova.
The talks with Croatian counterpart, Gordan Grlić Radman, have focused on furthering the reform agenda, the interest of Moldova in sharing Croatian experience within EU accession process, but also possible priorities in the context of presidency of Croatia in 2020 of the European Union. Also, the head of the Moldovan diplomacy spoke about the possibility of reducing roaming charges and issued an invitation to Minister Gordan Grlić Radman to pay a visit to Moldova.
