Chisinau, 27 September /MOLDPRES/ - The Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP), at a today’s meeting, ruled to cease the contest for the election of the new prosecutor general of Moldova and turned down the earlier submitted files. The decision came after the parliament had made amendments to the law on the Prosecutor General’s Office.

The CSP members said that they would comply with the new legislative amendments.

Under the new legislation, the prosecutor general will be elected by CSP from a short list, presented by a commission created by the Justice Ministry and will submit him to Moldova’s president for appointment.
