Common visions in more sectors of GUAM member states discussed in New York

Chisinau, 27 September /MOLDPRES/ - Strengthening efforts to ensure the work of the Free Trade Area in the space of GUAM (Organization for Democracy and Economic Development), consolidation of the political dialogue and sectoral cooperation, as well as the promotion of business environment were among the main subjects discussed at a meeting of the council of foreign affairs ministers of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development on 26 September. Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu participated in the event, on the sidelines of the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
According to the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service, at the meeting, the heads of the delegations agreed on paying special attention to the further promotion of the draft collective resolution on the protracted conflicts in the area of GUAM member states.
In his speech, the Moldovan diplomacy head stressed the importance with which Moldova treats the cooperation with the GUAM states. He spoke out for boosting the sectoral interaction in key fields, in order to turn to good account the current cooperation potential.
The participants found out that there were common visions in the efforts of advancing the relations between GUAM and the specialized agencies from the UN system, as well as of raising to a higher level the international cooperation ties with the dialogue partners in the GUAM+ format.
