Moldovan president meets United States Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs

Chisinau, 28 September /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon has had a meeting with United States Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale, during his visit to New York. The officials discussed the evolution of the bilateral relations, noting the ascendant character of the ties, the presidential press service has reported.

The sides found out the boosting of the strategic dialogue between Moldova and the United States, due to the domestic political consensus and support on behalf of the foreign partners, including the United States.

Igor Dodon thanked the U.S. leadership for the support of Moldova, including of the current ruling coalition. The head of state reiterated the importance to maintain the parliamentary majority and the government for the re-establishment of the democratic institutions and implementation of the reforms assumed.

Referring to his speech given at the United Nations General Assembly, the Moldovan president emphasized the importance to promote a balanced foreign policy and preserve the status of Moldova’s neutrality.
