”In the today’s exhibition, we can see an important part of the history of our country and nation. If I could make a quite short summary, we start from a date when we needed help – this is contained in the first boards, and we end with the last boards, where we come with assistance. We begin in this exhibition with the Union of Lublin from 1569, 350 years ago, which was an important moment and represented the first steps to the European integration. We speak about the union between Poland and Lithuania, followed, unfortunately, by difficult events for our nation, with more occupations, with more wars and, eventually, with a 30-year-old moment, when we were able to become a free state again. The accession to the European Union did not take place in one day; an effort of the entire society was necessary, after more years of preparation. This was a new beginning, when we had to make efforts, so that the country’s changes its look both inside and outside, so that we contribute to the strengthening of freedom and democracy in other countries,” Bartlomiej Zdaniuk said.
The exhibition will be opened till 31 October.
