Moldovan president meets United Nations Secretary General

Chisinau, 28 September /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon has had a meeting with United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres in the end of his visit to New York, the presidential press service has reported.

The officials discussed the agenda of the Moldova-UN bilateral relations. The head of state thanked the Organization for the carrying out of more projects of major importance for Moldova in such sectors as the humanitarian, social, education, ecology ones, etc., including in the Transnistrian region.

Referring to his speech given at the UN General Assembly, Igor Dodon highlighted the importance to inform the international community, from the first source, about Moldova’s balanced foreign policy and the constitutional status of permanent neutrality.

At the meeting, the Moldovan president invited Antonio Guterres to pay an official visit to Moldova.
