Pupils from six countries participate in International French language Olympiad in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 29 September /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 36 pupils and 12 teachers from six countries: Albania, Armenia, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Moldova and Romania, participated in the fifth issue of the International French Language Olympiad, held in Chisinau in this week-end.
The Olympiad took place at the headquarters of the Moldovan State University. More officials, among whom the state secretary of the Education, Culture and Research Ministry, Valentina Chicu, attended the event.
In beginning of the Olympiad, the official welcomed the participants, wishing them success at the contest. ‘’We know that you are already winners of French Language Olympiads in your country; so you are the best of the best. Your results represent a homage brought to the French language, a language which unites in the European space, just as outside its borders,’’ Chicu said.
The International French Language Olympiad, which is at its fifth issue, is organized by the Education, Culture and Research Ministry, National Agency for Curriculum and Evaluation, International Organization of La Francophonie, in partnership with the State University of Moldova.
The contest consists of individual test (written) to assess the level of competence in the French language and an exam in teams, focused on the creativity of pupils and oral presentation in certain contests.
The results of the Olympiad will be announced today.
