Two persons die, 15 injured within wake of trolley bus – car accident in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 30 September /MOLDPRES/ – Two persons died and at least 15 were injured after a trolleybus going on route №22 was blocked by a Porsche car and projected into a crowd, on street Alba Iulia in Chisinau municipality.

Interviewed by agency, the press officer of the Chisinau Municipal Police Department (DPC), Svetlana Scripnic, has mentioned that the circumstances of the accident are being investigated by police, but from the first info it is known that 02 persons, a trolleybus passenger and a Porsche passenger, lost their lives as a result of impact.

“Another 15 persons, trolleybus passengers, but also the ones which were sitting on berth, got various injuries. The number of victims could increase because some of the injured were taken to the hospital until the police arrived," said Scripnic.

According to source, the Porsche was driven by a woman. "For the moment, it is not known who is guilty of the accident. But, according to legislation, the driver which caused such an accident risks up to 07 years in prison with the cancellation of driving licence”, added Scripnic.

The police, but also the rescuers, work at the accident site, the traffic being blocked.
