EU High Representative awarded Order of Honor

Chisinau, 4 October /MOLDPRES/- President Igor Dodon met on 3 October Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, who was visiting Chisinau, before completing the five-year term, the presidential press service has reported.
The head of state thanked the EU leadership for the constant multilateral support provided to Moldova, in particular during the last years. At the same time, Igor Dodon expressed gratitude to the EU for supporting the peaceful transfer of government that took place this summer, as well as for solidarity with the parliamentary majority and the government of our country in the efforts to achieve the most important reforms and to continue the implementation of the EU-Moldova Association Agreement.
Federica Mogherini thanked the Moldovan president for open dialogue to European structures. The officials were unanimous in the opinion on the need to continue the strategic partnership between Moldova and the European Union, already with the new composition of the European Commission, which will start its activity on 1 November.
At the end of the meeting, the head of state said that through the presidential decree, as deep gratitude for special contribution to the development and strengthening of relations of friendship and collaboration between Moldova and the European Union, Federica Mogherini was awarded the Order of Honor.
