Negotiations on Transnistrian settlement to be held in Bratislava on 9-10 October

Chisinau, 7 October /MOLDPRES/ - A new meeting for the Transnistrian settlement in the 5+2 format will be held in Bratislava on 9-10 October.

The participants in the event will consider the degree of implementation of the confidence building measures agreed upon within Berlin-plus package and will analyze possible new and complementary priority issues for additional confidence building measures.

The talks will be hosted by OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Foreign Affairs Minister of Slovakia Miroslav Lajčák and Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office on behalf Slovakia for Transnistrian settlement Franco Frattini.

The meeting, officially called, Permanent Conference for Political Questions in the Framework of the Negotiating Process on the Transnistrian Settlement in the 5+2 format, will bring together representatives of the sides – Moldova and Transnistrian region, mediators on behalf of OSCE, Russia and Ukraine, as well as the observers at the negotiations – European Union and United States.
