Medical integrity guide launched in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 7 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry today launched a Medical Integrity Guide, meant for the heads of the medical institutions, as well as for employees from hospitals.
According to the Health, Labour and Social Protection Minister Ala Nemerenco, the guide includes a string of pieces of advice for the managers of hospitals, as well as a set of rights and restrictions. The guide is also meant to back all medical sector employees and to help combat the corruption phenomenon.
„The guide is support in the work of the medical employee, who must know the documents he/she is related to, ethic, deontology principles which, unfortunately, have actually been forgotten. At the same time, the guide is meant to protect the medical employee’s integrity, if the latter is doubted,’’ Nemerenco added.
The health minister noted that she would not tolerate corruption acts in the medical system and the guide will be distributed to all hospitals and will be able to be accessed online.
The medical integrity guide was worked out with the support of the Council of Europe and European Union through the project, Controlling Corruption through Law Enforcement and Prevention.
