Chisinau city hall to be restored

Chisinau, 8 October /MOLDPRES/- Chisinau city hall will be restored. The works would begin in 2020. The proposal was put forward by the head of the capital construction department, Alexandru Panfili, who presented on 7 October the draft capital investment program for 2020.

According to Alexandru Panfili, the works will start from the roof of the building, and some employees will be moved to other offices. The official did not say how much money is needed to start the restoration of the city hall building.

The draft capital investment program for 2020 sees works amounting to 193 million lei. Of this amount, 121 million will be used for the continuation of the previously initiated projects, and the remaining 72 million will be invested in new objectives. "The number of objectives registered at the capital construction department is much higher and the amount required is impressive. We have concluded contracts worth 289 million lei. Currently, we have used 106 million lei inefficiently, given that there was not earmarked enough money in the municipal budget for 2019 to continue the construction and repair works in terms of capital investments. We cannot invest and abandon the works, because the entrepreneurs leave the objectives, and we have no sources to keep them ”, Panfili said.
