Moldovan parliament hosts meeting with beneficiaries of Speranța Center

Chisinau, 8 October /MOLDPRES/- The first story about the activity of the Parliament in the easy-to-read, easy-to-understand version was handed today to children and young people of the Speranța Center by Secretary General of Parliament Adrian Albu.

According to the parliament’s communication and public relations department, together with the teachers and parents, as well as the head of the Commission on Human Rights and Interethnic Relations and head of the Commission on Social Protection, Health and Family, the young people made a guided tour of parliament.

Elena Bacalu, head of the Commission for Social Protection, Health and Family, and Doina Gherman, head of the Commission on Human Rights and Interethnic Relations, talked to visitors about their wishes to the administrations of educational institutions, employers, public authorities, reiterating the commitment of MPs for efforts to ensure equal opportunities for all citizens.

The Parliament's guide, in easy to read format, was printed with the support of the United Nations Office for Human Rights in the context of efforts to promote transparency of work and accessibility of parliament. The guide was tested with the support of the Speranța Center and the social centers in Orhei, Hâncești, Cahul and Edineț.

On 10 October is marked the World Mental Health Day, which aims to raise public awareness on people's problems.
