Moldovan cabinet approves signing of more agreements with government of Turkey

Chisinau, 27 December /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers today approved more decisions on the signing of agreements with the government of Turkey, during an official visit to Ankara by President Igor Dodon, due on 29-30 December. A Moldovan-Turkish forum of business people is also scheduled to be held during the visit and the first meeting of the high-level strategic cooperation council is to take place.
Thus, the Moldovan government will sign with the government of Turkey the agreement in the sector of training staff of the law-enforcement bodies, which provides for facilitating the exchange of experience and taking over of good practices as to the training of staff of the law-enforcement bodies. The direct cooperation and the joint education of the personnel from the law-enforcement bodies in the sides’ specialized institutions will work based on the principle of reciprocity.
Also, the agreement between the two states’ governments on the mutual establishment of culture centres and their work is planned to be signed. The document regulates and facilitates, for long term, the conditions and procedures of opening and activity of the culture centres on the territory of Moldova and Turkey. “Taking into account the fact that Moldova and Turkey are set to boost and extend their cooperation relations in the culture sector and given the presence of the Gagauz Turkish-speaking community in Moldova, the far-reaching historical relations between the political entities which preceded the two countries, intense contacts between the two states in the economic field and the growing Moldovan Diaspora in Turkey, the Education, Culture and Research Ministry deems as important the initiation of activities of setting up culture centres abroad, as well as hosting in Moldova of similar institutions from other countries,” the note to the draft decision reads.
Another two governmental agreements refer to the mutual conversion and recognition of driver’s licences, as well the combined goods transport.
