Moldova's legislation in physical culture and sport sector might be amended

Chisinau, 27 January /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova might have a new law on physical culture and sport. The parliament’s commission for culture, education, research, youth, sport and mass media today approved a draft on amendment and completion of the law to this end.
The initiative belongs to a group of MPs and comprises 14 chapters, 60 articles and an annex. They suggest the completion of the law with three chapters: supervision and control, the disciplinary authority; prevention of violence in sport and fight against doping and establishing sanctions for the infringements detected, which are absent in the current variant.
Also, new articles will be in the law’s text. They will define the status of the professional sportsman, as well as the status of the sports coach. The document will also have chapters concerning the sport’s structures and the way of financing. The law might be completed also with a clause on giving the status of national sports federation; the latter is to cave seven sports club with legal personality as founders.
The proposals on amending the law 330 were elaborated by a working group, which included lawmakers from the parliament’s commission for culture, education, research, youth, sport and mass media. The setting up of this group was suggested at more meetings, organized by the commission, with the participation of representatives of the competent central administration authority, National Olympic and Sports Committee, Paralympic Committee and national sports federations.
