Chisinau, 27 January /MOLDPRES/ - Acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi today chaired a cabinet meeting, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
In the beginning of the meeting, the PM demanded information on the pandemic situation. State Secretary at the Health, Labour and Special Protection Ministry (MSMPS), Tatiana Zatic, said that the epidemiological situation nationally was daily monitored. According to the data, a slight increase in the number of infections with COVID-19 has been recorded. In these conditions, the observance of the protection norms is further necessary.
The cabinet of ministers ruled to earmark, from the government’s intervention fund, about 41 million lei to the central and local public authorities to provide one-off allowances to the medical employees infected with COIVID-19, as well as to other employees infected with coronavirus while exercising the job duties. There are 2,564 beneficiaries in all.
„The government identified resources on this difficult period, in order to fulfill its commitment to the medical employees. I want to assure you that, from now on, the cabinet of ministers will identify the means necessary to reward the effort and sacrifice of the first-line medical staff,’’ Aureliu Ciocoi stressed.
The government ruled to provide, in continuation, monthly scholarships during one year to performance sportspeople who did not participate in international competitions in 2020. The money will be provided depending on the results achieved at the last sports competition, in the case of cancellation or postponing of the competitions because of the Covid-19 infection or for other objective reasons.
„I know the difficulties faced by performance sportspeople and I deem as opportune this possibility to allow them benefit from monthly scholarships. The support’s goal is to maintain the competition form and capacities needed to represent Moldova at the international sports championships,’’ the acting prime minister noted.
The cabinet of ministers approved a draft law which sees the extension of the period when enterprises can cross more border checkpoints. These are: Pervomaysk–Kuchurgan, Goianul Nou–Platonovo and Novosavitskoye–Kuchurgan. Thus, the economic agents, registered or non-registered at the Public Services Agency public institution, will be able to carry out procedures of charging customs duties for goods, without levying rights to import or export and without the enforcement of economic policy measures, but with the observance of the condition to leave the goods on the territory non-controlled by the constitutional authorities.
Aureliu Ciocoi said that the repeated extension of this term was not judicious. ‘’I ask the Finance Ministry, jointly with the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry, to initiate the actions needed to elaborate a draft on amendment of the Government Decision No 960/2017 till 15 May 2021. The Foreign Affairs and the European Integration Ministry and the Interior Ministry will continue the dialogue with the Ukrainian side, in order to advance the process concerning the implementation of the final phase of the joint control on the central segment of the Moldovan-Ukrainian state border starting from 1 July 2021,’’ the acting PM noted.
The participants in the today’s cabinet meeting approved a draft instruction of the government on the organization and carrying out of the events dedicated to the day of commemorating the people dead in the Afghanistan War, marked on 15 February. The draft provides for the setting up of an organizational committee, as well as a plan on marking the Commemoration Day. Its goal is to recognize the national importance of the events which marked the withdrawal of the military troops from Afghanistan.
