The members of the organizational committee of the Eurovision Song Contest (national stage) brought together on 26 January evening, to discuss the conditions in which Moldova will be able to delegate its participant to the Eurovision-2021, in conditions of pandemic and restrictions, which limit the capacity of organizing traditional shows.

According to the organizers, the holding of the a national selection in classical variant, practiced by the Teleradio Moldova company public institution in the last years, is not possible, as the observance of the rules imposed by the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission could not be ensured. The members of the organizational committee highlighted that only the creative and technical staff alone, minimally needed to organize the pre-selection show, exceed the limit imposed of 50 people. At the same time, the social distance also cannot be ensured in the small room of a TV studio.

According to the rigours set forth by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the singer will present a new song and the stage concept till 8 March 2021,’’reads a press release submitted to Teleradio Moldova.

The European Broadcasting Union and the local organizer from the Netherlands till early next February are to decide on the scenario of organizing the European Song Contest-2021.
