As many as 683 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 28 January /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 2,696 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 683 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed, of which eight import ones. As many as 158,309 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.

According to data put out by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 44 out of all cases are medical employees: physicians –6, medical assistants –26 and auxiliary staff -12.

Over 2,170 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are put in hospitals, of whom 242 are in extremely serious condition (48 patients are connected to assisted breathing apparatus).

In the context, 3,326 persons are treated at home with easy forms of coronavirus and 15,975 are under supervision at the domicile.

Another 568 people have been treated. As many as 148,432 people were treated of COVID-19 in all.

At the same time, MSMPS informs about the registration of another 17 deaths triggered by COVID-19 and 3,413 people have died of coronavirus in all. The virus killed a medical assistant from the hospital of Nisporeni. Seventy two medical employees have died because of the COVID-19 infection till present.
