Chisinau, 28 January /MOLDPRES/ - The Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) has taken note in the case of Moldovan citizens blocked in the Odessa region of Ukraine and, through Moldova’s Consulate in Odessa, a constant communication is ensured with the local authorities and representatives of transport companies, in order to assist the citizens at risk. Also, we were informed about the constant efforts of competent institutions from Ukraine, involved in the clearing of snow from the road segments hit, the MAEIE press service has reported.

As for the process of management of the requests coming from the citizens who face difficulties abroad, we mention that MAEIE has been operating strictly with data collected by the diplomatic missions and consular offices from the first source, i.e. from direct addressings by citizens through various ways and platforms of communication (MAEIE call centre, missions’ emergency phones, e-mail, messages coming from pages of missions and MAEIE on social networks).

The emergency line of Moldova’s Consulate in Odessa: +380 99 242 0835 – remains active. The line was created exclusively for Moldova’s citizens who face a difficult situation, especially an emergency one.

MAEIE recommends that citizens avoid travels which are not essential and learn information about the travel conditions from officials and worthy sources.
