Well-known journalist, writer passes away

Chisinau, 28 January /MOLDPRES/ - Journalist and writer Efim Josanu died at the age of 73 years today.

The Teleradio-Moldova Public Company (TRM) has made the announcement. ‘’The leadership of the Teleradio-Moldova Company Public Institution expresses sincere condolences to the family, relatives and everybody who knew Efim Josanu. Efim Josanu dedicated his entire life to journalism, with his work at the National Television being a prodigious one and regaining the freedom of expression and formation of a new generation of journalists. Efim Josanu was among the promoters of the Mesager programme from the national television, acting as editor-in-chief of the News Department in the years of national revival,’’ TRM’s press release reads.

Efim Josanu was born in the village of Ciulucani, central Telenesti district, on 20 March 1947. In 1965, he finished the secondary school (now Lucian Blaga lyceum) from Telenesti. In 1972, Josanu graduated from the Moldovan State University, journalism section of the Faculty of Letters.  

Efim Josanu was member of the Moldovan Journalists Union (1973), Moldovan Writers’ Union (USM) (2005), honorary president of Moldova’s National Olympic Committee (as of 2001), member of the Bureau of the Sport Committee of the Council of Europe (Strasbourg 1999-2001), member of the European Olympic Committees (1998—2001). In 1996, Efim Josanu was awarded the Labour Glory order.
