Chisinau, 29 January /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu had a meeting yesterday with Ambassador of Poland to Moldova Bartłomiej Zdaniuk.
According to the presidential press service, the head of state thanked Zdaniuk for supporting the country, especially since Poland, as one of the initiating countries of the Eastern Partnership, backed both Moldova and EaP development, which brings concrete benefits to citizens.
In this context, Maia Sandu approached support programs, carried out by the government of Poland through Polish Aid and Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova. The best known is the LEADER approach, which by creating over 30 local action groups contributes to the empowerment and economic development of rural areas, creating jobs and turning to good account the country's regions.
Sandu pointed out the need for further bilateral and European cooperation, given that Poland has always been a supporter of our country's European integration path. Moldova needs support to help its citizens affected by the crisis, farmers and entrepreneurs and to mitigate the impact of the pandemic on the Moldovan economy.
