Chisinau, 29 January /MOLDPRES/ - The National Health Insurances Company (CNAM) today launched graphics explaining the way money is collected in the mandatory health insurances accounts (AOAM) and where these financial means are used.

According to CNAM data, the graphics represent part of a campaign on informing about the rights and obligations of insured people, annually carried out by CNAM. The graphics will be placed on the CNAM’s webpage and will be presented on screens placed in the Company’s territorial agencies, at medical institutions.

According to the quoted source, the budget of the mandatory health insurances is made up, to a great extent, of contributions paid by employed people and transfers from the government for the people insured by the state. The money from the people who pay the insurance premium in fixed sum comes to this budget as well. About 97 per cent of the money is meant for medical services; the rest of 3 per cent is used for prophylaxis activities.

In the mandatory health insurance system, the insured people have rights and a string of medical services in case of disease – emergency medical assistance, services provided by family physician and his/her team, compensated medicines, ambulatory and hospital medical assistance, home care, high-performance services, such as tomography, ultrasound, mammography, magnetic resonance. The access to medical assistance does not depend on the age, income or residence.
