As many as 551 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 29 January /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 2,533 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 551 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed, of which five import ones. As many as 158,860 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.

According to data put out by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 28 out of all cases are medical employees: physicians –9, medical assistants –12 and auxiliary staff -7.

As many as 2,315 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are put in hospitals, of whom 199 are in extremely serious condition (49 patients are connected to assisted breathing apparatus).

In the context, 3,384 persons are treated at home with easy forms of coronavirus and 16,040 are under supervision at the domicile.

Another 594 people have been treated. As many as 149,026 people were treated of COVID-19 in all.

At the same time, MSMPS informs about the registration of another 11 deaths triggered by COVID-19 and 3,424 people have died of coronavirus in all. The virus killed a 51-years-old medical assistant from the Cahul Substation of Emergency Medical Assistance. Seventy three medical employees have died because of the COVID-19 infection till present.
