One school, 140 classes in Moldova work remotely due to quarantine

Chisinau, 1 February /MOLDPRES/- A general education institution and 140 classes in the country work remotely due to quarantine, according to the situation on 29 January. The number of pupils tested positive with COVID-19 is 194, and 2710 pupils were placed in self-isolation.
According to the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research (MECC), 154 teachers have been positively confirmed with the new coronavirus and 83 are in isolation. Of the non-teaching and auxiliary staff, 54 people were infected with the new virus, and another 34 are in self-isolation.
„In the technical vocational education, on January 25-29, 15 pupils tested positive with the Sars-Cov-2 virus, 11 - teachers and 2 from non-teaching and auxiliary staff were registered. Also, 17 groups of pupils are placed in self-isolation," MECC said.
In higher education, on January 25-29, there are four students tested positive with Covid-19, in self-isolation there are 11. Five teachers were positively confirmed with the new coronavirus. Two people were infected from the non-teaching and auxiliary staff.
The Ministry of Education, Culture and Research urges school managers, teachers and students to continue to comply with all measures to protect against COVID-19 virus.
