Number of buildings constructed decreases in Moldova in 2020

Chisinau, 5 February /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 3,038 authorizations for constructions were provided in 2020, down by 1.9 per cent against 2019.
The National Statistics Bureau informs that most authorizations for constructions were given in the urban environment, where 1,730 authorizations for constructions were issued or by 6.4 per vent more against the level recorded in 2019. A number of 1,308 authorizations for constructions were provided in the rural environment, which is by 11 per cent less against the year before.
Most authorizations for constructions were provided in the Chisinau city – 186, Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia – 60 authorizations, and in the North development region - 18 authorizations for constructions. As many as 111 authorizations for constructions were provided in the Centru development region and the index remained at the level of 2019 in the South development region.
At the same time, statisticians say that the number of authorizations for non-residential buildings decreased in all regions in 2020. Seventy six authorizations were given in the North development region (by 28.1 per cent less than in 2019), 61 authorizations in Gagauzia (by 25.2 per cent less), 37 authorizations in the Centru development region (by 12.4 per cent less), 31 authorizations in the Chisinau municipality (by 16.1 per cent less) and six authorizations in the South development region (by 3 per cent less).
