Chisinau, 23 February /MOLDPRES/ - There are no 51 MPs in this parliament to back the fight against corruption. The people know that there is a single solution – snap elections. Head of state Maia Sandu made statements to this effect today evening, after the Constitutional Court had declared unconstitutional the decree under which Natalia Gavrilita was repeatedly put forward for the office of prime minister.
„We do not have a situation of normality at present. In continuation, the people live under the damnation of a parliament which has turned into a political market, where lawmakers are bought and sold. All those who innumerable times have stated that the country needs snap elections, presently say that a temporary government is necessary to save the country. The people know that snap parliamentary elections are needed. Any government due to bother the corruption schemes will be removed; this happened to me in 2019 too. At the presidential elections, I said that snap elections are necessary; one million of people agreed with me,’’ Maia Sandu said.
The head of state added that she was not going to be a convenient president. ‘’I promised that we will do proper order in the country; I got the citizens’ vote for this. I will not be a convenient president. Dear citizens, I assure you that such a parliament will not keep us on place. We have no right to keep the state’s institutions captured. The people will choose their future either at the snap polls or at the referendum,’’ Maia Sandu added.
