Moldova's Intelligence and Security Service remains subordinated to Presidency

Chisinau, 27 April /MOLDPRES/ - The Intelligence and Security Service of Moldova (SIS) remains subordinated to Moldova’s President. The Constitutional Court’s (CCM) today declared unconstitutional the provisions of the law, which excluded SIS from the subordination to the head of state.
The ruling was taken by the High Court following a notification submitted by MPs Dinu Plangau, Maria Ciobanu and Sergiu Litvinenco.
The present ruling is final and cannot be subjected to any appeal.
The draft law which provides for the getting of SIS out of the subordination of the presidential institution was voted by the majority made up of the Party of Socialists and the Shor Party.
