Moldovan organization assesses results of 14 years of work

Chisinau, 17 May /MOLDPRES/ - The results of the 14-years-long work, registered by the Organization for the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Sector Development (ODIMM), set up at an initiative by the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry (MEI), were unveiled at a news conference today.    

“In 14 years of activity, ODIMM has consolidated its role of the most important institution of support for small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) , providing services of consultancy, support and training to young people and women with business ideas, migrants who returned home, companies with potential of growth and export, all people interested in the business sector. MEI and ODIMM will further be by the side of the entrepreneurs, with the current instruments, will launch new initiatives of support and will continue innovating everything they do, in order to meet the needs of the entrepreneurs,’’ the state secretary at the Economic Ministry, Mihail Lupascu, said.   

According to the ODIMM director general, Iulia Costin, during 2021, with the support of the government and foreign development partners, the organization will launch seven new business support projects, which will enhance the SMEs’ competitiveness,  will provide to entrepreneurs at risk opportunities to start businesses, will strengthen the rural tourism, will boost the transfer of technology between universities and the private sector, will stimulate the creation of social enterprises, etc.      

In 14 years of work, more than 150,000 people benefited from ODIMM services: consultancy in business, training, financing and investments in the national economy of about two billion lei, with about 11,000 jobs created.   

During years, ODIMM has been backed by the European Union, German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), United Nations, World Bank, etc.
