Moldova, Georgia, Ukraine to boost cooperation in European integration sector

Chisinau, 17 May /MOLDPRES/ - Acting Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Aureliu Ciocoi today participated in a trilateral meeting dedicated to the cooperation between Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine in the European integration sector and the Eastern Partnership, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE ) public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service has reported.
The participants in the event signed a memorandum of understanding between the three foreign affairs ministries on the cooperation in the European integration field. The memorandum establishes a string of goals of cooperation of the countries associated with EU and provides a normative base for the undertaking of joint diplomatic approaches, trilateral consultations, public communication actions.
In the press statements made following the document’s signing, the Moldovan diplomacy head, Aureliu Ciocoi, pointed out that the three countries with European aspirations and ambitions, which signed the association agreements, free trade with EU, got the free visa regime, today were conveying a strong signal on the wish to continue the agenda of reforms and modernization for the benefit of the associated states’ citizens.
In the opinion of foreign affairs ministers Aureliu Ciocoi, Dmytro Kuleba and David Zalkaliani, the strengthening of the diplomatic efforts in trilateral format is up-to-date also in the context of the holding of the Eastern Partnership (EaP) Summit in the next autumn. Foreign Affairs Minister Aureliu Ciocoi stressed that the associated countries remained fully committed in the processes of cooperation within EaP; the common interest is that this platform has an ambitious agenda due to continue the eastern partners’ rapprochement with the European Union.
