Moldovan president meets German defence minister

Chisinau, 20 May /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today continued her official visit to Berlin with a meeting with German Defence Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer, the presidential press service has reported.

„I reviewed, along with Mrs. Minister, the security challenges in our region, the future plans and opportunity of a more advanced cooperation in the security and defence sector between our countries and in the regional context,’’ President Maia Sandu said.

The head of state thanked the federal defence minister for the support provided to Moldova and the country’s institutions in the security sector till present and the openness to continue this cooperation in the long run.

During a two-day official visit to Berlin, the Moldovan president had meetings with the president of Germany, Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel, as well as other high-ranking officials.
