Moldova's State University of Medicine and Pharmacy starts marathon of anti-COVID-19 vaccination

Chisinau, 21 May /MOLDPRES/ - The Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (USMF) today started the marathon of vaccination against COVID-19 titled, From Student to Student. The immunization will be held non-stop and will last till 23 May at 21:00.
Attending the launch of the marathon was also USMF Rector Emil Ceban. He said that the students, pupils who have already turned 18, as well as teachers are expected to be vaccinated with the first dose. ‘’No citizen having passport will be refused. This marathon is organized for us to get out of the pandemic as soon as possible, so that the students and pupils of the education institutions, once vaccinated, we can resume the usual education process as of 1 September,’’ Ceban noted.
Ten immunization points were organized at the marathon, where the Sinopharm and AstraZeneca vaccines will be available. Family physicians, medical assistants from the University Clinic of Primary Medical Assistance of the Nicolae Testemitanu USMF, members of the academic community, scientific and didactic staff, resident physicians, students and administrative personnel will be involved in the vaccination process.
USMF informed that it would ensure the administering of the vaccine’s second dose. On 11-13 June, the Sinopharm vaccine will be administered and on 16-18 July – AstraZeneca.
