Folclor Orchestra Presents contest-festival reaches sixth edition in Moldova

Chisinau, 21 May /MOLDPRES/ - The sixth issue of the TV festival and contest of young singers of folk music, Folclor Orchestra Presents, took place at the Palace of the Republic from Chisinau on 20 May evening.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the festival’s director, People’s Artist Silvia Goncear said that the festival’s goal was to promote and turn to account the instrumental and vocal musical folklore in authentic form, discover and promote the most valuable folk music singers, turn to good account the songs, national costumes from various regions of Moldova and Romania and introduce them into the circuit of the spiritual values.
The event is organized by the Folclor Folk Music Orchestra and the Serghei Lunchevici National Philharmonic and the partners are the Education, Culture and Research Ministry, Teleradio-Moldova Public Company, Mihai Eminescu Romanian Cultural Institute from Chisinau and the Chisinau Municipality’s Culture Department.
The TV festival and contest of young singers of folk music, Folclor Orchestra Presents, regard vocal soloists and instrumentalists with ages between 17 and 35 years. The contest is held at two sections: vocal soloists and soloists instrumentalists.
The next show will take place on 14 October and the Gala of Laureates – on 4 November.
