3,282,288 people registered in State Register of Voters

Chisinau, 1 June /MOLDPRES/- The Central Electoral Commission presented today the total number of voters registered in the State Register of Voters. Thus, on 1 June 2021, 3,282,288 voters were registered.

According to the CEC, out of this total, 2,786,368 citizens with the right to vote are assigned to administrative-territorial units of level II.

The electoral administration explained that the difference includes persons who have the citizenship of the Republic of Moldova, but do not have registration of residence, including those who emigrated authorized abroad (237,322 people) and citizens with voting rights registered in the administrative units -territorial territories on the left bank of the Dniester, temporarily outside the sovereign control of the constitutional authorities of the Republic of Moldova (258,598 persons).

Chisinau is at the top of the list, with the most voters - 641,189, followed by the Territorial Administrative Unit of Gagauzia with 130,290 and Balti- 102,433 voters. The fewest citizens registered on the electoral lists are in Basarabeasca district - only 23,841 voters.
