Commemorative pottery exhibition by Moldovan ceramist inaugurated at Chisinau-based museum

Chisinau, 11 June /MOLDPRES/ - A commemorative pottery exhibition by departed Moldovan ceramist, at his 65th birthday anniversary, was inaugurated at the National Art Museum of Moldova today.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the museum’s director, Tudor Zbarnea, said that Vlad Bolboceanu remained one of the most gifted ceramists from Moldova. ‘’We may regard his as founder of the artistic education in the ceramics sector. He is the founder of the ceramics department at the Music, Theatre and Fine Arts Academy,’’ Tudor Zbarnea stressed.
Vlad Bolboceanu was born in the Colicauti village, northern Briceni district, on 8 February 1956. In 1975, he graduated from the Chisinau-based Alexandru Plamadeala Fine Arts College and in 1980 – the Institute of Arts from Tallinn, Estonia. After returning to Moldova, the ceramist laid the foundations of the decorative art. He opened the decorative art department at the Arts Institute from Chisinau, within the Fine Arts Faculty. In 1991, Bolboceanu became member of the Moldova Fine Artists’ Union. The fine artist died prematurely in Chisinau on 21 July 2004.
The exhibition will be open till 4 July.
