Moldovan president to pay official visit to Italy

Chisinau, 14 June /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu will pay an official visit to Rome on 18-20 June, at an invitation by her Italian counterpart, the presidential press service has reported.

On 18 June, the head of state will meet President of Italy Sergio Mattarella. The officials will discuss the cooperation in more sectors, commercial relations, as well as the situation of the Moldovan Diaspora in this country. Special attention will be paid to the bilateral legal framework, especially the agreement between Moldova and Italy on the recognition of education documents and the one in the social security sector.

The agenda also includes meetings with President of the Senate, Mrs. Maria Casellati; President of the Chamber of Deputies Roberto Fico; President of the committee on foreign policy of the Chamber of Deputies, Pierro Fassino; members of the Moldova-Italy friendship group of the senate; Rome Mayor, Mrs. Virginia Raggi.

Maia Sandu also has scheduled a meeting with representatives of the Diaspora, as Italy is the country with the biggest community of Moldovans in Europe.
